Introduction to Genealogy Databases | America 250 In-Person
Curious about your family history? This beginner-friendly class introduces attendees to the world of online genealogy and historical research. You will learn how to navigate popular genealogy and history websites to uncover family records, trace ancestry, and explore historical documents.
The session will cover essential tools and strategies for searching census records, immigration documents, military records, and more. You will also learn how to evaluate sources, organize findings, and build a basic family tree. Whether you're just starting or looking to deepen your research skills, this program will provide practical guidance and helpful tips to bring the past to life. Attendees will also get a chance to win an AncestryDNA kit!
No prior experience is required. Participants are encouraged to bring their own devices, though a limited number of library computers will be available.
